Sprint Design Challenge of 24 hours

Problem Statement

You need to design a mobile app for a home security system.

Key point: Since this is a daily task, it should be simple to use and intuitive

Features -
1. Locking/Unlocking: Lock, unlock, or check lock status from your smartphone/tablet
2. Share Keys: Share virtual keys with friends and family.
- Keys can be for one-time use, restricted to a particular time every day, restricted to particular days of the week, or unrestricted.
3. Key management: Manage keys issued by you and guest keys received by you along with restriction details and lock details.
4. Revoke or change access restriction of issued keys anytime from anywhere.

Conclusion

This was a really exciting task which I had to complete within 24 hours to qualify for the final round of an internship. And I could hardly dedicate 9–10 hours to it. This may not be my finest works, but something I am really proud of, as it was the first time for me to take up such a challenge. There are errors and the results could have also been much better. But the task was to test what best we could do when the clock is ticking. I have learned a lot in these few hours of undertaking the challenge, and would definitely have more confidence when there’s a similar scenario/task in the future!
